Bob Travels

As I get older, it has become more important to me to be able to see where my get up and go has got up and been.  So I am rebuilding my older travel sites with new server technologies to provide thumbnails of my photos and clickable links to full sized displays of each.  There is also a text links Site Map for those who might prefer accessing the photos by that means.  On the albums page the album references show the lead photo from an album and the link goes to the web page where the full album is displayed.  All photos and other information on this site are (c) 2013 by Bob Grumbine or as earlier specified within the body of the photographs themselves.

cute little pine tree given to my Arboretum by neighbors who had no place for him as he had grown to 120803

same Lone Pine as he has grown to
141211, now up to my eye level, with a portion of my 47 foot long bamboo patch
in the background

particularly wanted an olive tree in my Arboretum in memory of the Russian Olive tree at my rented place in Carson City.
This little guy was planted early in 2014
and had grown nearly to chin level when I
recorded this photo 140929

during 2014 I added three Bald Cypress babies to my place after carefully acidifying their growing areas.  This is the largest of
the three after changing his needle colors from green to red as of 141217

hibiscus blooming in my Arboretum on 120827, only apparent survivor of an original five which were attacked by the little lizards that roam around my place.  Thought he was dead at one point, but saw a trace of green as I removed him from his original location, nurtured him in my Defined Garden Area, and then transplanted to the Arboretum where he has done very well.
my eldest Crape Myrtle photographed 120913 with the new supporting rod I got for him to help him stand upright against the ferocious desert winds

one of the set of four teeny bopper sized Desert Willows that I bought from a nursery to be sure I would have some in the front row of my Arboretum, as he appeared in bloom on 120510.  His purple "orchids of the desert" reflect the fact that he receives regularly daily watering while it's warm enough for me to run my watering system.  A volunteer at the far corner of the Arboretum who doesn't receive watering produces light pink flowers instead.

dunno his name yet, but this interesting tree was given to my Arboretum by neighbors who wanted to do something else with the location in which he had formerly growing, as he appeared 120602

most aggressively growing of the little elms seeded in my Wildflowers Patch as the dying act of the former grove of old growth elms chopped down by irresponsible goofermint now in my Arboretum 120803

Spanish Broom in bloom 120429

looking into my Arboretum from the street, two of my oldeander bushes (red and pink) with a Desert Bird of Paradise in the background and a portion of my 47 foot long bamboo patch showing upper left 120506

blooms on one of my purchased pink oleanders recorded 110703 not long after initial planting in my Arboretum
seedling Desert Willows growing in my Defined Garden Area 110921 planted with seeds from the original volunteer at the far corner of my Arboretum.  Those transplanted elsewhere during the Winter have continued growing reasonably well.

An old alky (I consume NO alcohol) once recited a pobe
to me which I have rewritten to reflect my own reality:
I'm now mature.  My wits are keen.
My get up and go has got up and been!
thanks for sharing my views of where I've been
